Mongolia
Speedy Transition to a Vegetarian Country

By Ulaanbaatar News Group (Originally in Mongolian)

[Mongolia] Ever since Supreme Master Ching Hai started the “Be Veg! Go Green! Save the Planet!” campaign,  the warm-hearted Mongolian people have shown enthusiastic support. Climate change and spirituality have become frequent topics of discussion in different media groups. The country’s Minister of Environment and Tourism, Mr. Gansukh, also addressed this issue and expressed his intent to work together with all conservation NGOs to halt global warming.

In addition, more vegetarian restaurants are sprouting up across the country. Vegetarian cafés can be found in Murun, Khovsgol province and other cities, and recently the 4th Loving Hut international vegan fast food franchise opened in Ulaanbaatar. Positive feedback received from the customers included: “The food is very delicious and the restaurant is so graciously decorated. I would like to say to Mongolians, ‘Please come here and taste the food.’” “The cuisine here is just awesome …. We are pretty sure that the Mongolian people will return to their traditional way of life, which is being vegetarian, and then all of us will be healthier.” Our fellow initiates are excited to see that Mongolia is well on its way to being a vegetarian country!
