Master Supports Canadian
SPCA’s Compassionate Work
By Vancouver News Group (Originally in English)

Dr. Jim Inglis

After wildfires in western Canada caused 11,000 residents to flee their homes, the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BC SPCA) rescued approximately 300 animals from the area. The BC SPCA also offers animal-welfare-themed day camps for people at various locations throughout the province where participants learn about pet care, wildlife, farm animals, animal welfare issues, and the environment. The favorite pastime at the camps is spending time with animals.

On July 24, Golden Year 6 (2009), a group of Vancouver initiates visited Dr. Jim Inglis, Director of Kelowna, British Columbia’s, SPCA branch and presented him with a CAD$5,000 (US$4,600) contribution on behalf of Supreme Master Ching Hai. Upon receiving the funds, Dr. Inglis expressed deep gratitude for Master’s generous aid.

The initiates were happy to learn that the BC SPCA has a number of vegan and vegetarian staff members, and that the organization has a policy of ensuring that cruelty-free, meatless meals are served to these employees regularly. They took the opportunity to inform Dr. Inglis and his staff on how to prepare their own vegan pet food at home, thus allowing their animals also to eliminate meat from their lives. May God soon bless us with a cruelty-free world.
Thank you letter and receipt from the BC SPCA
