Conveying the Messages of Global Warming through Music

By Busan News Group (Originally in Korean)

[Busan] On May 25, Golden Year 5 (2008), fellow initiates from the Busan Center held an eco-music concert on vegetarianism and global warming at Lotte Department Store located in Seo-myeon, the most crowded area in Busan. The store offered the needed equipment for the performance and helped with the decoration of the stage. One hour before the show, the initiates did a promotion of the event by displaying placards and distributing related information in the area.

Osori, a musical group from Busan National University, participated in this event for the first time. Through a wonderful performance of both modern and traditional music, they appealed to all ages in the audience and successfully conveyed the messages of global warming and vegetarianism. Members of Osori expressed their appreciation to the Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association for inviting them to be part of this noble and urgent movement.

Informing the Public about the Solution to Global Warming
By Busan News Group (Originally in Korean)

[Gue-chang] On June 5, Golden Year 5 (2008), initiates from the Busan Center organized a SOS Global Warming video presentation and a free vegetarian buffet at Gue-chang county public health center in Gue-chang, Korea. Many guests were shocked to know of the serious deterioration of the Earth’s environment and that its main contributor is animal farming. After sampling the wonderful vegetarian foods, some guests commented that they no longer needed meat for a delicious meal. Before leaving, they took information on global warming, Alternative Living and Supreme Master TV.

The next day, the initiates headed to the crowded Gue-chang market place, where they hung up banners with the SOS message at the crossroads and passed out relevant flyers, while other initiates walked around with upheld SOS signs. At a traffic light, one young man in a car saw the banner and said, “I know our planet is in danger but I don't know what I can do.” After he took a flyer, he promised to watch Supreme Master TV and tell his friends, especially upon hearing that if everyone becomes vegetarian, global warming would be reduced by 80%.

All the Busan Center initiates who attended the campaign resolved to work more diligently to help reassure people that we can all help save the planet, simply by adopting the animal-free vegetarian diet.

Trying All Means to Spread the Messages
of Global Warming

[Kangwon] Fellow initiates went to high schools and primary schools in Kangwon Province to promote vegetarianism and address the problem of global warming. Apart from giving lectures, they also arranged vegetarian cooking activities to show the students and teachers how easy it is to prepare healthy, delicious, eco-friendly, veggie meals. The Korean editions of The Dogs in My Life were also given to the schools.

In a local festival held in Gangneung the initiates marched together, carrying SOS global warming banners and passing out Alternative Living/SOS leaflets. They hoped and prayed that all the Earthlings, with God’s blessings, would be informed of constructive information about vegetarianism as a way to save the Earth, so they could act more swiftly.

Maintaining Momentum in the Fight Against Global Warming
By Daegu News Group (Originally in Korean)

[Daegu] To maintain the momentum obtained from the SOS International Conference blessed by Master on May 22, Golden Year 5 (2008), Daegue Center initiates held a seminar on global warming on June 12 in the Daegue Young Korean Academy auditorium. The seminar started with the SOS NASA video presentation, which was followed by an in-depth lecture and discussion on global warming. A sumptuous vegetarian dinner was offered to all the 47 participants, including the members of the Young Korean Academy and distinguished guests, thus providing more irrefutable evidence that this healthy, eco-friendly diet is delicious and has limitless varieties of delicacies.

The logic and scientific evidence presented convinced the audience that the swiftest solution to global warming is vegetarianism. An Academy member said, “It struck me to the core, and I think it’s not only my concern but also everyone’s.” All were impressed by the vegetarian food. A high school teacher, who decided to teach her students about vegetarianism and respect for life, commented, “I had a full plate of vegetarian food. It was so delicious, and soy cutlet really tastes like meat. I had a wonderful time.”

Daegu initiates are deeply grateful to Master for giving them this opportunity to help spread the urgent messages of the seriousness of global warming and what can done to save the Earth.
