Kyrgyzstan
Helping Earthquake Victims
By Malaysia News Group (Originally in English)
On January 1, 2008, an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.6 struck the mountainous country of Kyrgyzstan, in central Asia. This was the second earthquake in that location within a week, destroying hundreds of homes and displacing about 3,000 people. Concerned about the victims, Master immediately provided US$3,000 for relief aid. After fellow initiates contacted the Red Crescent organization in Kyrgyzstan, they were informed that though the quake victims had already received the urgent supplies from some nations, they would need more help in a few months time. Finally by May 10, through the Kyrgyzstan embassy in Malaysia, fellow initiates were able to deliver Master’s love to the Kyrgyzstan Red Crescent organization. So far, 146 sets of casual clothes have been purchased for the victims. To view the Humanitarian Relief Activities by the Supreme
